It will spread to many other items most likely. Coffee, sugar, flour batteries the list could go on and on. There might be enough for everyone if bought on a normal scale but people are creating their own fears by over buying all at once. As long as coffee don't take a hit I'm good. Mesquite beans just don't roast up the same.

        The house has windows.

We have water hoses that can be fed through said windows, along with wash rags and bath tubs. We’ll make due.

Looks like the strike ended with a 90 day contract.

I bought 48 rolls for my kids last Saturday so they could TP some houses. The rookies only used about half of them. I’m sitting on a gold mine of leftover TP lol

I don't get it. Out of everything people can buy it's toilet paper. I can crap outside and use the water hose to spray off if things get that bad. If I can't shoot something with it, stab something with it or eat it during the apocalypse.....I don't want it.

During Covid I went to the store and I was the only person in line without toilet paper stacked in my shopping cart. The cashier said "You're not buying toilet paper?" I said "Nope." He said "Why not?" I said "Because that's frickin stupid." Except I didn't say frickin. Everyone just kinda looked around at each other. Hopefully realizing how dumb they looked. What the hell you gonna do with 200 rolls of toilet paper. People don't take a dump that often. At least I would hope not. If you have IBS I get it, I guess. But the majority of people do not. I keep napkins from every fast food restaurant I go to. If you're that worried about it, don't throw them away. You can wipe with those too. I've seen me do it hundreds of times. They're not just made for wiping your mouth clean. They're duel purpose believe it or not.

I had you pegged you as the “delicate fanny” right from the start, Nancy. And I bet you secretly snuggle with at least 2500 of those throw pillows.

It is time to take the dang warning labels off everything. Good Grief.

They only way to get to the mainland was by boat (taking a few hours) about twice a year so they had to watch what they had. They also repurposed a lot of things. So even now, living in the country for 35 years, she still gets in a panic if we get to less than about 40 rolls of tp and about 30 rolls of paper towels.

So I ordered from Amazon during covid. I had a case of paper towels and a case of toilet paper delivered every four weeks.

So with the Amazon monthly delivery and not even worrying about it, we built up quite an inventory. I finally wanted to cancel it but she said…. NO!!! Eventually I convinced her that a couple of year’s worth of paper products was enough.

We canceled our monthly tp and paper towels subscription for probably close to a year. A few months ago we went back to ordering paper towels (no tp yet) and get one 16 jumbo roll case once a month. That comes out to about a roll every two days which is about right.

So what was this soliloquy all about?

This is the leftovers after covid AFTER we quit getting monthly shipments almost a year ago.

Oh-em-gee! Do you have any idea what this level of inventory is doing to your cash flow? Your inventory turnover rate? Your ROI?

The last thing you need is more! In fact, you should start selling. Mark it up a little and turn into a temporary profit center. Then you’ll have an ROI that anybody would be proud of.

Dockworkers suspend strike until January 2025, we are back to normal evidently. Then it hits again. Wonder how long it will take for the depleted shelves to be restocked at an much higher price?
