Hell yeah! I am near the coast and I cant remember the last time we had temps this cool for opening day. It was 67 degrees on my way to work this morning. This NW wind is going to allow us to hunt a stand that my son and I can sit together. He's got a shooter picked out and I'm gonna video. Hopefully it all comes together

The N wind has got me all screwed up! I only have one N wind stand, and with how green it is, there is nearly nothing going there right now. I’m normally all giddy and ready to go, but with the wind and the green and the acorns, I’m just kinda MEH right now.

The wind has me hamstrung also. Most of the deer in my one spot come from a creek bottom S of my blind. I need a SW wind to be perfect.

I'll be missing it tomorrow morning as I'll be in the ER working but I'm going home Sunday and I'm taking my little boy Sunday night and Monday night before I leave for an ill timed but good time fly fishing trip in Colorado on Tuesday.

If you are in the “heartland” area, I suggest finding your best acorns and hunting that area.
my house deer are ignoring my two feeders, but hammering the biggest acorns which happen to be right by the house.
