Opening morning is almost here! One more sleep. After all these years and all the opening days, I still look forward to it like a little kid. It was 51 degrees this morning at the ranch…good luck to all of you guys!

Lots of deer movement last night and this morning on my cameras.

Yessir, about to throw a bunch of stuff in the truck and hit the road. I’m really hoping the wife gets a shot out of her blind in the morning because I’m the only one to have killed anything out of it up to this point.

She should at least have a chance at a pig. Her camera is sending me picks of pigs as I type this in fact, not much in the way of deer activity at her spot so I may sit the PM hunt out and move her to mine depending on how she does in the morning.

The N wind has got me all screwed up! I only have one N wind stand, and with how green it is, there is nearly nothing going there right now. I’m normally all giddy and ready to go, but with the wind and the green and the acorns, I’m just kinda MEH right now.

We headed out this morning and got persimmon corn piles freshened up about 10am.

My doe’s are coming into heat as of This morning ! I may miss tomorrow morning to go watch my grandsons play FB but if the Good Lord wills it I’ll be in my stand by noon until dark. No shootable bucks right now but they will come . I hope that you all have very successful hunts this wknd and this season .

first opener in 20 or more years I will not be hunting. I will be at camp, but I have zero deer coming in that are shooters so I feel its best just to give them time to show up. I may try to shoot a pig off a friends stand (I have feed pens so no pigs either lol)
