And before all of that, Billy Gibbons was the lead guitarist for

THE COACHMEN V (1964-1965) Billy left guitar in THE COACHMEN V black and white pic

          then changed their names to

THE MOVING SIDEWALKS (1965 - 1968) - Billy second from left in color Moving Sidewalks Pic

          Before becoming ZZ TOP 1969

Couple of the guys in the Moving Sidewalks got drafted into Vietnam....so Billy found two new guys and the rest is now history.

Use to see them in Kingsville, while in college. They would play at the Texas A&I Paul Jones Auditorium for $1.00. They was some some good rock.

Here’s a throwback from the beardless days, courtesy of the Book of Faces. Circa 1970 [emoji14]

From left...Frank Beard, Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill.

I liked them in HS. If it comes on the radio now it’s an instant change. I really don’t know why.

Because they commercialized and went mainstream years ago. I bet if Mexican Blackbird came on you wouldn't change it! I still enjoy their early stuff.
