    Looking for an air fitting.

I'm looking for a fitting to put on my air hose to blow out the ac drain line. I've just been taking this one out and using my air gun. I'd rather use the proper fitting, but not sure where to get one. Anyone have one or can tell me where to get one?

Have you tried Ace hardware? They’re good for this type stuff generally.

Assuming it's the same size, why not put an actual air chuck fitting on it. That way you snap the quick connect on it and open the valve

There hasn't been an Ace around here for a while. At least I don't know of one anymore. I'm thinking about running down to Plano and check Elliot's.

It has a schrader (?) valve in it like a valve stem on a tire. If I can find something similar that will screw into the shutoff valve, I'll change it out.

I'm referring to replacing the whole thing on the drain line. What's on it looks like a "lock inflate". Replace with this

Search Amazon for lock inflate air chuck. I believe that's what you need

I know what you're talking about. This fitting is not big enough to allow for the thread size.

Thanks for the help. I didn't know what it is called. I'll see if I can find one or something similar.

If your drain line is PVC, just add an upside down T section downstream of the ac unit with a ball valve on the ac side and a screw on cap on the T extension. Get a second cap and drill a small hole in it that will fit one of those rubber fittings that come with your compressor. When you want to clear out the line, close the valve, put the cap with the hole in it on the T extension and add compressed air thru the hole in the cap. If your drain line is connected to any sink drain inside the house be sure to cover the sink drain with rags because the air will splatter gunk out if it’s clogged and then clears suddenly. Don’t forget to open the ball valve once the line is clear and put the cap without a hole back on the T. You can use this same method to add bleach to the line to clean out the gunk from time to time.

I'm thinking something like this that uses a tire inflator.

                      I was thinking the same.

It should be an easy swap out.

Short 1/4”(appears to be 1/4”) nipple. To a T. That fitting on one side and your quick connect make air fitting on the other with a valve. Done. Pretty simple and any hardware store will have it all. Teflon good.

Check the chucks on your auto AC and see if it's the same size. Might be able to rig something up that way.

Or a water well company. Actually the spring for the well type might be too weak

The newer cars have quick disconnects on the ac. But, I have a set of cheap HF gauges I'm gonna look at. Working on my air compressor right now. Went to roll it our to drain the tank and the durn handle fell off! Can't find the screws.
