Not real happy with the quality of bucks we been seeing, we have fed a lot of protein, this is our first year to own the ranch, it had been hunted for at least 20 years, probably take 2-3 years for us to see an improvement. We do have tons of quail.

Yeah, hard to know what to expect on the first year, and there's no telling how the previous group of hunters hunted or what they shot. I'm sure the results 2-3 years from now will be well worth it and super satisfying.

Woo-hoo! Hoping to get more hunting in this season with my 2 new hips. Hard to believe it's only 6 days to go. Me and the recurve are not ready

Super quiet right now. Are y'all getting any stand time?

Hot is all I can say! Lol We are up here this weekend and it felt like it was August again but still seeing some deer/mature bucks just not the ones we want. Laid down some pigs but need to kill alot more! Pigs numbers are the highest I've seen in several years. Next weekend should be alot better with the cooler weather moving in.

We planted our wheat and food plots three weeks ago right after almost 2 inches of rain, most of it came up within a week or so, not looking good, sure hope we get some rain , if not we will most likely have to plant again, my plots are only about 20 acres total, my farmer has 100 acres in wheat that is up. The deer are still hitting the protein pretty hard, no shooter bucks on cams, have plenty of cull / management bucks that need to go.

Our feeder activity dropped off, I’m assuming due to a good rain a few weeks ago.

We see mule deer, but haven’t gotten a single pic of one at a feeder.

Did y'all get your antlerless mule deer permits? I get one each year from the regional biologist through the new-ish TPWD’s Land Management Assistance (LMA) website. I've been applying since 2010 or 2011 and never failed to get one.

Some chances of rain this weekend with the front so fingers crossed!

Hall county- Lot of night time white tail action with the heat, per the cameras. not much daytime movement unless it’s right after sun up.
Never made it out with the bow.
still tentatively optimistic to nail the target buck opening weekend. Showed up at 3am last night. If can’t get him we have a handful of cull freaky bucks that will be on hit list.

does and fawns on camera look to be going into the autumn/winter with excellent body condition still. Glad for that.
