Has anyone been to Mexico duck hunting? Looking for info on a lodge. Can you bring the meat back to the US?

I hunted for years in Mexico on a great deer lease and we had some great large ponds that held good quantities of ducks of all kinds that I could not easily get in Texas. I got excited, purchased my license to hunt them and killed some fantastic specimens I was proud of and wanted to mount! The part of the homework that I missed was that I had to be crossing back with a letter from an FDA approved taxidermist that they were going to. Evidently, they will allow them back if you have that, at least back then, and then the FEDS follow up to make certain the specimens arrive at said approved location....... sadly, I had to ditch 4 or 5 different species as I did not have that arranged and it was a weekend. They did have a list, but I figured the price would be at least twice what my taxi would charge..... oh well..... FYI, this was years ago, so things may have changed, but I would check this out before you go for it! Maybe an outfitter would have it all lined out!

Never got caught but there's always a chance.
We shot them late into February and even early March so the roosters had full ploomage. They were beautiful that time of year and made amazing mounts.

If you go to west coast mexico you can shoot some cinnamon teal and depending on the location pacific brant. Other than that its the same birds you can shoot in texas.
With all that being said, the season in Mexico runs to march so you can get better plummage on the birds you shoot.
