I have 2 rooms in my house that the exterior walls are west facing. The house is 40 years old so I am sure the insulation is the issue, but these 2 rooms are considerably warmer than the rest of the house even after installing a new ac setup in December of 23. yesterday i was temping vents and room temps and i temped the walls in these 2 rooms (exterior only) and they were 10-12 degrees hotter than the rest of the walls on the second story. so my question is has anyone had a company like RetroFoam come in and reinsulate the walls with spray foam without removing sheetrock basically just filling over the top of the existing insulation? If so was it worth it?

I’ve also been recommended to add a return air vent in that area, but that won’t prevent the excessive heat gain that is occurring.
