    Retrofoam or the likes question

I have 2 rooms in my house that the exterior walls are west facing. The house is 40 years old so I am sure the insulation is the issue, but these 2 rooms are considerably warmer than the rest of the house even after installing a new ac setup in December of 23. yesterday i was temping vents and room temps and i temped the walls in these 2 rooms (exterior only) and they were 10-12 degrees hotter than the rest of the walls on the second story. so my question is has anyone had a company like RetroFoam come in and reinsulate the walls with spray foam without removing sheetrock basically just filling over the top of the existing insulation? If so was it worth it?

I'm curious to see how they do it without removing the sheetrock.

It's an interesting concept. In for the reviews also.

I am planning on having them come by for a quote this fall. Same sort of deal as OP.

are you thinking about doing all walls or just your walls that are warmer than the rest? or is that dependent on the quote?

This is something I was going to talk to them about, but I’d like to just address the obvious problem areas.

I’ve also been recommended to add a return air vent in that area, but that won’t prevent the excessive heat gain that is occurring.
