Vehicle Inspections and window tint

I have yet to find a fuse that will disable the driver and passenger window on my ‘17 Silverado 3500.

Better believe it. I even have the No Seatbelt chime disabled on my vehicles, and I rip the tags off of mattresses!

It depends on what you drive, I don’t think it’s a universal thing.

That said, I know some Ford and MOPAR vehicles are similar. It involves having the ignition set to Run without starting the vehicle and then hooking and unhooking the seatbelt multiple times.

Hopefully you would have to worry about inspections in the future. But you need to find a self owned mechanic shop and have them do it. Most of the time they don't check window tint. I went to a jiffy lube and I had a eyebrow that went past the AV1 line. They told me they wouldn't pass it AND they were still going to charge me. I had to cut the eyebrow at the line. Next year went to a different place and they use a tint meter and didn't pass it. I left there to another place and they really didn't check anything. Been going there since.

Is doing away with the inspection going to do away with the actual violation?

I.E. window tint? Broken tail light? Broken headlight?

Happened to me last year at Valvoline. Took it to another place and it passed. Just got inspected again this year, no problem. The crazy thing is no LEO has ever pulled me over for tint too dark, Of course the LEO Vehicles will not pass either. Next year no inspection required.

Where do you live. Find one of those little Tejano shops. They will fix you up.

My guy and the ghetto shop down the road got busted. They said no way on a work van we own that had a light on. It’s a 2007 ford van.

Had the same experience, but from a different issue. My deleted diesel failed a place that passed it multiple times. Luckily another go to place for my vehicles passed it.

Can you go to another place for the inspection? We have pretty dark tint on our windows and have never had any issues with it. It might be worth checking with safelite to see if they can offer any recommendations or advice for your situation. They might have some insights or solutions that could help

Had two of my trucks inspected in the last month. One is 5% on the side windows and back window. The other is 5% on sides and back, and 70% on the windshield. They never did anything but ask me the mileage and hand me my sticker.

I went to one recently and the guy just walked up and said that he could hear that the truck was deleted (he is correct) and that he wouldn't be able to do the inspection. I told him that I only needed a safety inspection, not emissions, and that wasn't part of the safety inspection. He said it didn't matter and he would not pass it. I just went up the road to a different shop and got it done no problem, then moved my corporate account so the 250 vehicles in our fleet will no longer be going to shop 1 for oil changes and such.
I'm just glad that this is the last year of that nonsense.
