Weed wiper works good for spot treatment. I use 1:1 water to 53% Roundup

I spot treat areas using 1/3 ounce in 25 gallons water with a surfactant. Recommendation for broad coverage is 1 1/3 ounces per acre max. Only comes in 20 ounce containers in dry formulation. Kills top growth and rhizomes.
Killing the rhizomes is key. Gly will kill the top of Johnson grass pretty easily, but it will often come back.

I crushed it with 41% glysophate with dish soap in it as surfactant, mixed 2 ounces per gallon in 25 gallon sprayer and spot sprayed them, it's horrible this year. I get it at feed store.

That's very interesting set up. What "rope" is that ?

I bought the rope and inserts as a package.

These were very popular in my neck of the woods prior to Roundup Ready technology.

You can make a simple handheld one out of PVC and supplies from your local farm store.

Or buy one here for pretty cheap https://www.agrisupply.com/wick-applicators/c/4200053/

I’m spaying 2.5 oz to the gallon and it seemed like it did nothing, sprayed it again and smoked everything in the area
It’s gly from TSC , smokes anything that I spray it on @ 3oz per gallon setting

Cows will kill it out. They love it and will graze it until its gone.

Outrider. It’s expensive but selectively kills Johnson grass.

Outrider would be the most effective. A little bit goes a long way, but its expensive

Yes, get glyphosphate. It will do a great job on johnsongrass. Most of us use the term Roundup to mean glyphosphate. Didn't realize that Roundup (Monsanto??) was pulling a switcheroo on us.

What do you use as a non-ionic surfactant?

I use li700, it can be used with outrider as well if you decide to go that route. I use Outrider also and it does a really good job on Nutgrass as well. I use 1 quart per 100 gallons of water with li700

Depends on what it is being killed in. Like hay field etc. These chemicals will all kill it.

                                pastora
                                Msma
                                Outrider
                                Plateau
                                Glyphosate
