That stuff takes a while to kill it. Make sure you don’t mow it before it’s dead all the way into the roots.

I have the same problem, lots of Johnson grass in mine. Supposedly the best way is to let it get some growth on it
and then use a wipe application so that the weed killer doesn't get on the good grass. You can look it up, is a type of
long circular soft rod that is soaked with the liquid and as you drive over the Johnson grass, it wipes the killer liquid
on it. I don't have one but most farmers do and also spraying services do it.

Second the recommendation of Outrider for hay fields. Kills Johnson grass without harming Bermuda, also gets Bahia grass. I spot treat areas using 1/3 ounce in 25 gallons water with a surfactant. Recommendation for broad coverage is 1 1/3 ounces per acre max. Only comes in 20 ounce containers in dry formulation. Kills top growth and rhizomes.
