I never even thought about having a serious IFAK until my daughter and I started hunting in the mountains. All I ever carried for myself was athletic tape and gauze pads.
I realized that I didn't want to stand there and watch her die because I didn't have something that I EASILY could have brought.
Now my kit has 2x tourniquets, 2x chest seals, 2x zigzag compressed gauze, etc.

Same here. My hunting kit is very simple. 2 tourniquets, 2 rolls of sterile gauze for wound packing, 4 chest seals, 2 NPAs, 2 Israeli bandages and a sterile body stapler. Anything that doesn’t require one of those is absolutely survivable until you get yourself (or partner) to town.
