Would I need a mesh rough for my security camera ?
Right now it’s runnning on a t-mobile hotspot with crappy service. It will be about 100 ft from the router

You might but the app will have a coverage area you can use when you are up and running. You can also do a speed test where the camera is located. I’d wait and see unless you don’t mind spending the money. Then buy a mesh node.

        correct.

you optimize/aim it with the app when you install it

the pole bracket also does not come with it.

think it was 38 bucks, and just snapped in place of the kickstand.

Like M16 said, I’d get it installed and see what type of signal and speeds you get out at the camera. Going through the walls of the building I’m in, I’ve been impressed with how far it will reach. Depending on the location at your house, mainly how many walls it has to go through, it may do fine. Mesh routers are the best options out there, but also a little expensive. If you could run a Ethernet cable to get closer to the camera and plug in a normal wifi router, that may get you the signal strength you need for the camera at a lower cost. That’s what I did with mine here in the barracks. I got a TP-Link router off Amazon. I got a nicer one to handle the load and it was $75 but they have a $40 model too, and ran it down to the opposite end of the barracks so
those guys had a good strong signal.

A couple ways to skin that cat, but you can for sure come up with a solution that will get it hooked up.

Correct, they did away with it. We were wondering about the technology or what changed to not require it anymore. My uneducated guess was that there are finally enough satellites up there that it doesn’t have to search or follow one through the sky anymore. Who knows, we sure don’t, but I was curious about it.

Curious about the initial cost of the equipment and what kind of monthly payments for the service. Weighing different options.

Standard hardware is $499. Service is usually $130 a month.

I did see refurbished units for $349 on starlinks website. Same warranty as the new ones.

I got mine through Homedepot. Military saved me 10%, delivered it same day to my parents house.

I used my old Dish bracket and bought a mount that adapts to the Starlink dish.

I took off the old dish to where there's only the bracket mounted to my roof and the short pole.
In Amazon, search- Pftjujudan Mount for Starlink Gen 3 Adapter. It's got set screws all around and slides over your mount and attaches to the Starlink Dish.

Like others said, get the mesh setup. I'm using Eero, bypassing Starlink, and it works Great.
