    Starlink install help .

I’m not a tech guy. I’m about to order my starlink equipment. I plan to mount it on an old dish network roof mount that’s already on my house . So I’m guessing I need the pole brackets? That’s if it’s facing the right direction . Also wondering how many devices can I run off it ? Will I be able connect 3 fire sticks and my security camera and a tablet ?

You will need the pipe bracket and a clear view of the northern sky. Download the app and use it to see if you have a good location. You should be able to easily run those devices and about 20 more.

You will need to point it to the NW sky. Yes I believe you need the pole bracket but make sure you can point it correctly. My dish network was pointed SW. I'm pretty consistently getting 60-200+ Mbps. It will vary based on the satellite coverage.

I’ve got one set up in our barracks so we have good wifi while deployed. Getting up to 300mbps down, average is about 180 or so.

At the moment I show 21 devices connected. That includes people’s phones, iPads, computers, ect ect. That’s just to my main starlink router. I have a second router on the opposite side of the building that 5 guys are connected to. In total, 12 people sitting around streaming movies, FaceTiming family, one guy I think does video games. I am streaming a movie on my iPad while typing this on my phone. Zero issues.

You will have no problem connecting what you listed. Only issue is if there is a far distance from the router to your device and it doesn’t get good signal.

One guy got his in today and we got it set up. The 4 in his room were also using mine while they waited. So that was 16 people that were using it. Still no issues.

If it is the standard unit and not the mini it will aim itself. Check to see if the dish mount has enough adjustment to level the Starlink unit.

Thinks guys . Ok one more question why would someone need more than one router ? I remember seeing someone in a past post having to run more then one .

The newest models don’t aim themselves. Just a kickstand off the back and you point it in the correct direction and make small adjustments until it tells you it’s good.

So I can check my location without actually having the equipment on hand?

We have 4 of the "mesh node" devices from Starlink to have coverage in multiple buildings. You can activate and link them in the app.

additional Mesh routers extend service coverage area. I have my main router in the storage area of our motorhome parked next to the shop, a mesh router inside my shop provides service there and I have another mesh router in the window of our house which provides coverage inside our house which is about 60 yards from the main router.

So the gen 3 doesn’t have an aiming motor? I know the mini doesn’t.

Yes, download the app and it will use your camera to check for obstructions where you intend to mount the unit.
