this time of year I notice I don't get as many pictures. I'm thinking it is because of the heat. I have a moultrie cell cam and notice that I don't get pictures that I know I should have. But then I'll get some of a squirrel 30 yards away during the day. I'm looking to add another cell cam. Leaning towards the tacticam. Gotta find out the monthly rates

I think it’s $13 and $12 for each additional cam. Not a very good deal.

This is what you want with the 4.0x1.7 chew proof cable.
The tacta cam ones also work good. The Herd 360 or are just a little better.
A lot of the issues with not getting pics comes from cell service. I know in STX it may just stop for a day or two then a bunch of pics come through. I'm slowly upgrading antennas.

Look at the HME solar 12 volt battery, it is the shiznik, have seen guys report of them lasting 4-5 years before having to replace the 12 v battery. I sank 4 x 4 treated post, mounted the battery box on the top of post using a prefab concrete post anchor, then screwed the HME trail camera holder into the post, works great, can adjust camera at any angle.

I moved to them from a spypoint when i moved to new lease and all the members use Tactacam. I have found my two to be "delicate" as hard time getting one to connect. Pulled it this weekend and followed the internet script (Pull out AT&T card and lightly clean, same on SD Card), powered off and still not connected. Did it again an it connected and took pictures in Shiner last night. Back to lease in couple weeks and try it again.
Quality of pics are good.

Battery life depends on the number of pics and also if it's searching for connection all the time also.
I have a camera running on AAs still that is over a water trough. It has good service and a 30min delay. I change batteries quarterly.
Tactacam has and upgraded antenna you can buy or in my Herd 360 link they have a bunch, also.Last edited by BRUTE 23; 07-01-2024, 02:37 AM.

The cheaper battery packs ive been testing really did better than I expected. I tested 3 of them. 2 took about 6500 pics and the other took 7k. I did not have them sending pics. Just checked them like a regular trail cam. Im gonna do another test with Energizer AA batteries and the tactacam battery pack. Ill update when its done.
Heres the link to the cheaper version. They fit the cam perfectly.

You don’t ever have to put batteries inside your camera. I’ve been using Tactacam cameras since they hit the market and a couple have taken around 100,000 pics and never had a battery inside them.

I've seen some package deals on Amazon that included the camera, a lithium battery pack, the solar panel and an SD card. But maybe that's not such a great deal if the Solar Panel negates the need for the battery pack.
