I'd leave it and see what happens if I wasn't moving in a year. But it's going to be an eyesore when you are trying to sell your house. Firewood.

I am with the take it down crowd

Trees with top broken out are an eyesore

      Plant another in it's place

Is insurance paying for the cut down and removal?

I appreciate all the input! My hesitations on cutting it down is the root system around concrete driveway and additional flatwork and COST (tree guys are foaming at the mouth with all the work available after this storm). not worried about resale in this Houston market. Some had said online when they cut them down to stumps, and willow oaks sprout new growth from stumps also, so I’ll give it a chance for a year and see what new growth looks like. Tree guy said it would die is 2-3 years, can’t disagree. I’ll update this thread in some time. It looks sad lol here she is..

Looks sorta like Charlie Browns Christmas tree.
