Bonnells and Texas De Brazil. I've eating at one of the original gauchones (sp? it's been a long time since I spoke portuguese) in Manaus. Brazil is upper scale than that one was, but if you like meat, both of these are winners.

Love Shack and Lonesome Dove are Tim Love owned as well as Catarinas for fine Italian. Warning on Catarinas, they take your phone. Snooty place. Right up your alley.
      ((chuckling about “snooty” places!))

original Jalapeño-Cucumber Margarita from Lonesome Dove.

This one’s for you, Jason Smart!
This margarita was so delicious, I finished it in fairly short order. I asked my husband to order me another and he did because he is a good man (the occasional need for a rolled up newspaper not withstanding). When the margarita arrived, he said to me, “Do you think you can sip this one this time?”

I’ve been wanting to try Waters, but we go to town less and less these days. You can’t go wrong with Eddie V’s either.

Texas de Brazil. Del Frisco’s. Ruth Chris.
Come out Weatherford way and we’ve got Fireoak Grill, owned by chef Love’s old sous chef.

I am always a Fred's Texas Cafe guy when in Ft. Worth so I am probably no help.

If you drink the second one too fast, he may not get what he’s paying for.

                      Reata Restaurant.

                      Texas de Brazil.

There are lots of good places in and around downtown. Just ask your hotel manager for some references. Plenty of good ones on this thread as well..
The calf fries at Reata are pretty dang good. I like to ask them to make them extra crispy.

Bonnells is my favorite place to eat!

new place called Hudson House is very good but hard to get a table

HG Supply is affordable and a cool atmosphere on the river
