I'm not an art person, and prior to today for me a print is just a print. But these are a giclee print, instead of inkjet they use Pigment Printing, use pigments instead of dyes which are archival and have a longevity of 200+ years.

    bump for today's art lesson.
Yup! here are the 2 as they hang in my office

Exactly...I'm not an art fan, but I'd probably hang in an art gallery & look at these painting for a minute😁

There’s no question, HE wears the pants in the family!

She just tells him how and where.

To the OP, call the Houston Museum of Fine Art. They should be able to tell you whom you can call. You might even contact Vogt Auction in San Antonio. Their specialty is art and they should be able to give you a good estimate as to what your pieces are worth.

Don’t listen to the nay sayers. There’s a lot to appreciate about these works for anyone who takes the time to study them. I am unfamiliar with this artist but even I noticed what he does to the faces. (Hint: you have to look at the rest of the painting to see it.)

                Anybody else notice?

Hairlines/head structure match the architectural lines of the ceiling via the arches. One romanesque and one gothic. The artist also covered as many corners as possible with fabric and the model herself to accentuate the romanesque style. They are very well done and a great pair.

Beautiful paintings gorgeous girls. Almost Waterhouse like but much more “loose” in the brush strokes especially outside of the face.

Edit. Oh and same model used.

With that said if I had 2 Waterhouse girls and a wife was telling me she didn’t want to see them anymore Id buy her a 1st class bus ticket to the urban destination of her choice lol. Still can’t see why anyone wouldn’t like these.
