I’ve always heard that the implement width x ten per hour is a ballpark price. That would equal $60 per hour, or $600 for a full day. I wouldn’t pay any more than that for a 45 hp tractor. I guess if I didn’t have a tractor I’d just rent one.

FWIW I have done a little of this with almost the exact same setup. Last time I mowed for hire was 2 years ago so take that into account. I charged $50 an acre for first time cut and $35-$40 for everything g after that depending on the property. I felt like that was pretty fair.

My opinion, anything north of $60 an hour is absured and taking advantage of people unless it's a very thick/tall (6'+) growth foe the equipment you're running.

This! Why would a person pay 80-120/ hr on a small tractor with a 6’ mower when they could hire it out to someone with a 75 hp tractor and a 12’ mower , get it done in less than half the time and cost with the same move in move out? I’m thinking $60-$65 tops for this small equipment. That’s for clean grass , mild obstructions if any at all and a pasture that is not all hog rutted up! I’m running a 62hp with only a 6’ but it’s a heavy duty 6’ and I can move along at a pretty good click.

if it’s Bahia grass it’s gonna take longer during the hot months unless you mow it early in the morning.

Going rate around my area is 60 to 70 an hour with a 4 hr minimum.

What most have said for a 45hp tractor is about 55$ an hr. Most 100 plus horsepower tractors with a batwing are 85-100$ an hr.

              what area are you in?

I paid a 15’ bat wing $125 an hour for 6 hours. He was mowing the neighbors place so no delivery fee. Said he normally charges a delivery fee based on miles.

                I wouldn’t pay a 6’ the same rate. But that’s just me.

It’d take me 15-18 hours to mow the same with my 45 HP and 6’ shredder.

I charge my neighbor $125/ac (what it calculated out to, I didn't give a rate)

Mine field of rocks and old junk.
I have mowed it twice per year for around 5 years and have moved a lot of those things and learned where most of the rest are.
I charged them closer to $200/ac for the first time and the wife balked when I gave them my price. I explained that I could do more damage in 30min on the junk and rocks than what the total cost to her would be. When I was done she agreed that it was fair after hearing the mower hit a few things and seeing how long it actually took because of how slow I had to move so I could see and dodge the obstacles

I wish they would find someone else, only reason I do it is to be neighborly.

If it was just a pasture/ clean field I would probably not charge near as much

For your set up, $60/hr. You're estimating 12-13 hours, so I'd say that job is worth about $750.

If I was mowing with my 15' batwing, I'd charge $150/hr. Job would take me about 5 hours and the job would still be about $750.

But.....but....if you used a push mower, you'd charge $20/hr. Job would take about a 40hours and job would be about $800.

You'll make more money if you just used a pushmower.

I think your high, you are right on target as far as time but your shredder is small for 21 acres, someone with a 12 or 15 batwing could have it done in 3-4 hours, @$125--$150 that’s only around $600! Kudos to you for going out and hustling and if you can get it take it!

I have a 50 hp Kubota with a 6 ft mower, I charge 100.00 an acre because I really don't want to mow other peoples pastures. But they pay !
