    Vietnam Veterans Day

Welcome Home, brothers! Today is Vietnam Veterans Day. Our numbers were once in the millions but now we’re down to the tens of thousands. Remember our POW/MIA that never made back. 1st Signal Brigade, Long Binh 71/72.

Thanks for the reminder, sir. Much respect for the Vietnam Veterans. My dad was drafted and served as a medic over there. He was wounded in body and spirit.

Hats off to those who served, especially the ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

08 March 1965 my old man was an RTO in one of the two Marine Corps infantry battalions with the 9th MEB that landed at DaNang after the Gulf of Tonkin incident. He spent his 13 months patrolling around and defending the DaNang airbase. He is 82 years old now and has, only in recent years, began to open up and talk about his experiences.

Flew out of Chu Lai for a bit—and Duc Pho was one of our field sites where we kept a bird ready and waiting.

My uncle was on the flight deck on the Corral Sea and FIL spent most of his time on a destroyer protecting the carriers. God bless those who served and those who didn’t make it home.

A perfect example of a hero disguised as an everyday man who walks stoically among us.

Nice looking young American men. That you are the only one still above ground, OP, is a sobering thought and a serves as a reminder that this country paid too high a price for its participation in a war that, by design, we were never going to win.
