08 March 1965 my old man was an RTO in one of the two Marine Corps infantry battalions with the 9th MEB that landed at DaNang after the Gulf of Tonkin incident. He spent his 13 months patrolling around and defending the DaNang airbase. He is 82 years old now and has, only in recent years, began to open up and talk about his experiences.
