I would love to sit and have a drink with josh to talk about stuff but the drink is not that important. I hope he gets his demons under control and his life back under control. I wish him the best.

I'd be willing to bet there is not a person on the planet who has had a more strict, closely monitored rehab program than Hamilton has had since returning to the game. The Rangers hired Johnny Naron, who's entire job with the club was to keep Josh on the straight and narrow, including sitting with him apart from the other players who were drinking at dinner on roadtrips. (Narron has since left the club) Josh has by all accounts had the most solid, supportive group of people around him (clergy, family, etc) and the best addiction treatment money can buy. But the weak times come. As a friend of mine who struggled with alcohol for decades once told me (shortly before he died) " Sure I know better - but when the demons come knockin' and every cell in your body is screaming for a drink - all day every day - it's a matter of which form of hell you want to endure that day"

I know he's a believer. I pray he repents and RUNS to the Scriptures.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:5, 6 NKJV)Last edited by TXBlkCld; 02-02-2012, 10:33 PM.

But for the ones that do when mistakes happen sometimes the best thing can be is forgiveness and motivation.... both found in the scripts.

And in case you're "assuming" I'm passing judgement, I am not as I am not the judge. But for the record, I have NEVER touched alcohol and never will. Do I pass judgement on others for doing it? Nope. It's not my place. UNLESS they are a believer who is getting drunk and doesn't repent from it then I may as we are called to hold one another accountable but that is for another thread. Not here and now. This man needs edification and prayers. Not a scourging or crucifying.
