Noted only a few newly-hatched ones in the pasture just after sunset. North of Georgetown.

Glad I wasn't the only one. I step on a carpet of them every morning going to work.

It’s an annual event not a freak move by nature

Need to spray your lawn/pasture with Spinosad now and again in a couple weeks... That will control grubworms, the larvae stage of June Bugs... Do it again in the Fall... Spinosad is an organic contact killer of all caterpillars/maggots, etc... That will greatly knock them down in future years... Do it annually and you'll knock 'em out pretty good in 2-3 years.

They thick in Matagorda and Brazoria counties! Need to rename them Marchbugs.

That’s a great idea for some and I would do it except for the fact that behind me is a huge block of federal game refuge that for many years has been full of pigs(Not so much lately).
When the dead grubs and bugs start fermenting, and start stinking, the pigs can smell them a mile away and will root my whole yard up. I warned my neighbor of this years ago but he sprayed anyway. A week later his entire 4 acre yard look like it had been root plowed.

We are having the same experience with June bugs here in Brazos County. They make a mess on the front porch.

Get some chickens they will clean up the bugs and turn them into fertilizer. Win win!
