rock....no, metal yes. "they" don't consider themselves anything; however the industry considers the band to have had one of the greatest axe men of all time and a killer front man the like the genre had never seen.

they along with a few other bands kept metal alive in a time when everyone was wearing dingy clothes and shopping @ the salvation army wishing they were in seattle. they kept it real...... i had the pleasure of hanging out with vinnie and dime at the clubhouse in dallas after the show with anthrax. me, my buddy and dime killed a bottle of jack and the empty bottle still resides on my bar shelf. every year on dime's birthday we fill it up, pour him a shot and kill the rest.

              Cool thread!!

Goes to show that people of all persuasions enjoy hunting and the out doors. I have listened to metal since the early 80s. Went to my first metal show when I was in 8th grade (Ozzy and Metallica at the Summit). Spent many a weekend in Houston through highschool watching the mighty Dead Horse.

That being said I also like classic country, Texas country, 60s and 70s hippie rock (classic rock), Classical music (Bach, Chopin, Debussy, etc.), some opera, bluegrass, blues, some jazz.

I guess i just like music.

Any one know what happened to that skinny John Boy that they ran around with back in the early 1980s?
