I never had anxiety or panic attacks until I started having nerve issues in my neck. I’m going on two years of dealing with this. I had my C5-C6 disc replaced and just had a facet joint ablation done a week ago at the same level. I still have some pain so far but the chest pains and the anxiety seem to have gotten better. I’m hoping as these nerves quit sending the pain signals the rest will continue to get better. I could handle the pain any day but all the trouble it caused me with the anxiety, chest pains, and affecting the gastric system is too much. It was amazing to me what a couple of nerves in the neck can do to your whole body.

After having attacks for a year I can say I absolutely hated all the meds I tried. Everyone of them made me sick and I knew I didn’t want to be on them long term anyways. Exercise was huge for me to take my mind off things. If I were going the med route, without a doubt it would be with medical marijuana, like edibles.

My wife deals with severe panic attacks. Hers is mainly at bed time . She has horrible nightmares. That leads to bad panic attacks at night . She takes several meds for it . Some times it helps sometimes it doesn’t. Xanax can be a very addictive drug . So can clonazepam .

Mine only happen during sleep. Pretty terrifying when you don’t know what they are.

I haven't read any of the above comments, but I stopped cold turkey as well its was about 2 weeks of feeling like I was in Matrix until everything settled down. Unfortunately, I had even more severe panic attacks several months later and ended up at the emergency room 3 times. Now I am back on the medicine and feeling fine. I hate to say it but seems like some people (myself included) will just end up being on it their entire lifetime.

Folk is a panic attack just that? Panic? If you know you’re having one how can you stop it or why can’t you stop it? Is it chemical imbalance or what? Several people I know take anxiety meds and are still anxious. My wife for example

Agreed. Eating clean, Yoga Nidra, and exercise. It wont necessarily cure you but will make things much more manageable.

                    Good luck OP.

Friend was on Xanax and when the new doctor saw this he immediately told him to stop and prescribed Zoloft. Said that Xanax is dangerous. No more problems with the new med.
