    Samsung mini split??

Looking to add one to our bedroom. We’re at the end of the AC run and you could hang neat in the other end of the house and still be sweating in our room and the AC man recommended the Samsung. I know they make great TVs but had horrible luck with their appliances. What does the GS folks say?

    thanks!

Here is a new design for a window unit that is getting popular. Think of almost like a window mini split and supposed to be very quiet. And doesn't take up the whole window like the old ones.

maybe have someone come in and balance your system? throttle off some rooms could put more air. but I know some folks that have installed mini splits and love em just not sure what brand

I would also check out balancing the existing system first. If it’s currently sized properly you can create problems by adding a new unit. ****Do you have a return air in your bedroom, if not adding that will likely fix your issue.
I’m not sure if you can create zones with older units but that is worth looking at as well.

I'm pretty sure i had a sumsung minisplit put in my knife shop and it's worked really well heating and cooling my single car garage shop (only had it 1 year so can't talk much about longevity)

I put a at least 3 or 4 year old Chigo I tactically acquired from Afghanistan in my backyard shed. Ran fine for the few years before I moved. I’d bet it’s still kicking if the current homeowner actually uses the shop. Should have taken it with me.

One of the name brands won’t do you wrong, but don’t discount the others as well. I did the install myself except for having a guy pull a vacuum and charge it with r22.

Price a Daikin, good unit and works flawlessly in my application.

Another vote for Daikin. Just had a new one installed last year and have zero complaints.

If balancing doesn’t work, I bought a Mr Cool DIY. I think I put it on the TBH DIY forum. It cooled well for 2 summers, I had a problem running as a heat pump. A service tech came out, told me I had not fully opened 1 valve- guy only charged me $100 for the call and he also checked system performance while he was here,

Be aware- not all AC service companies will touch a Mr Cool- they get pissy it’s a DIY that a homeowner can legally install, but they need to be licensed to touch refrigerant.

There was a tax credit for heat pumps for electricity c heating. All the AC units also heat.
