    Don't get bit...

After you cut the heads off the heads can and will still reach up/over to bite, you leave 2" behind the head he can reach up 4". Turn the heads upside down to prevent this.

Put in a freezer for a week, when they thaw out same-same, they can and will bite.

When it's a dark dry and windy night, and you're comfortable in a long sleeve shirt, the snakes are out feeding. They sun during the day to aid digestion and shedding, but hardly ever in the full sun light.

They will normally only strike about 1/3 their body length, but when provoked I've seen them strike their full body length and then some.

Clamps work good and you can buy them off ebay, at least 4'-5' clamps. You can also make a snare out of 1/2" condiunt, ceiling wire, TV antenna cord.

I bought one at Buckee's. I got the other one from All Seasons feeders. Expect to pay over $100 bucks for one.

The only place I'd know to get a snake catcher would be to order one off the internet.Or just use a .22 and head shoot them before they get away.To get them out of holes I always use a cattle sorting stick.I've also used a a long piece of wire and bent it on the end to make sort of a hook out of it so I could drag them out.
Look near rocky outcrops for dens in the Spring. You should be able to catch them out sunning on warm days.

I like to put them in a five gallon bucket with a lid. Put them in the freezer for about two days. That way they will be dead and you won't ruin the skins.

A real Man Cave would have a live one....

Just remember, 90% of those that get bit are messing with them when it happens.

Los Cazadores in Pearsall has a pretty solid one.
Long, with an extra perpendicular handle extending from the main shaft.
You can probably order one from 'em...

                            Thanks for the reminder.
