I started having issues with my gallbladder if I went on a greasy food binge/ off my diet
not much fun having a slushy gallbladder, but the diabetes risk outweighs the gallbladder so far
I had a friend on it (recommended by her Dr) and she ended up having to have her gallbladder removed. They told her that it was caused by the Ozempic. She wasn’t even 30.

Well, you dont need a gall bladder anyway. All the new studies say when you stop using semaglutide you get fat again.

To each their own on that stuff. Personally, I don't think it's healthy at all to be dropping lots of weight in that short amount of time. The folks I work with that are taking it, strictly for weight loss, look like holocaust victims. They don't look healthy at all on that stuff.

Did they look healthy obese? Don’t get me wrong it’s probably not the answer for the people that need to lose 15-20lbs but man this country has a hell of an obesity problem. I’m certain there will be effects learned down the road but these people carrying around an extra 50-100lbs have to be extending and improving their quality life.

On a side note my wife had her gallbladder and appendix removed at separate times in her 20s and it had zero to do with ozempic. Pretty common actually. Is there a rise in gallbladder surgeries or what was the point of that note?

I feel 90 percent of people who want to or need to lose weight can do so following a keto diet. I also feel that most can lose weight by just portion control It’s all mind over matter, granted it can be unbelievably hard trust me I know. I was 240 and got to 192 then have been back up to 220 and currently 210 headed back to down to I hope the 180 mark. At that time I hope to be able to get off keto and maintain with portion control

Going back to standard American diet and restricting calories is a sure way to gain all the weight back, brother. Stick with real food and low carb for life.

I second keto along with being active. You can think you're eating "healthy", but you're really not. Lots of crap and sugar in those so called healthy foods.

If interested, check out Dr. Berg on youtube. He has some good info.

‘Need’ maybe so. Sucks without it though, especially when you want a greasy chicken fried steak from time to time.

You are probably correct since there have not been any long term studies on it. On top of that if you get started on it you have to do it for life because if you quit using it you’ll put the weight back on just like any diet.
The only thing that works a complete lifestyle change.

After a few years of letting myself go i have started to get back in shape. It is absolutely hard to do. I really need a drug that makes me vomit every time i taste sugar. I think i finally have my mind right but only time will tell. Started rucking again and light lifting. I need to get back to 230 which is where i was at when i started the fire department 23 years ago. That means 60 lbs over the next year. I hate where i am at at the moment

Ive been on Mounjaro since January, my A1C was creeping back up. I was Type2 and with weight loss I was able to get down to normal sugars. I was 286 in January and back to pre diabetic levels. Dr told me about Mounjaro and I decided to try it. So far no regrets, it did make me nausiated after eating. Now its not so bad, currently at 218

It doesn't take that long to stop craving sugar. It just seems like forever, because the withdrawals and cravings are tough at first. The key is to not replace sugar with artificial sweeteners and/or fruit. Just don't eat anything sweet for 30 days. You can do anything for a month. After a month, your cravings will be diminished a lot. They'll be HUGE for the first week or two, but just suck it up and decide that you're going to win. Don't have anything sweet in your house at all. If you bring it in the house, you'll end up eating it.

But once you detox and break your sugar addiction, you'll get to where eating sugar literally makes you sick to your stomach. If I ever on a rare occasion eat a couple bites of anything with sugar in it now, after several months of no sugar or artificial "healthy" sweeteners, I feel like crap within minutes. And what used to taste kinda sweet to me, now tastes SWEET. It's ridiculously overly sweet. It's not that appealing anymore. But you have to suffer through the cravings for a little while before you get there. When you have a craving for sugar, eat bacon, pork rinds, jerky, salty and fatty beef, eggs, etc....and eat until you're full. Drink lots of water with electrolytes - but NOT the kind with sweeteners. Only unsweetened. Every time you eat something sweet, you pretty much start your clock over on the time it takes to get past the cravings. Once you beat the cravings, it's not hard at all to leave sweets alone.

Last night we were at a restaurant. I ordered a glass of a dry red wine (so it shouldn't be too sweet, right?). It tasted like I was drinking Kool-Aid with extra sugar in it. I couldn't even finish half of the glass. Just stuck with the water with lemon.

Thank you for the info Shane. I am going to start a journal tomorrow. Already got a glass of sweet tea in front of me. I'll write down daily 1st day with our sugar and so on. I think I can do it if I keep track. Tomorrow is a new day. I have hiked 7.5 miles the last 2 days with a 30 lb pack. Also some light weights. I am finally determined to succeed after the last few years of farting around.
