You need to get there long before he ever shows up on cam. And wait him out. I usually get in an hour before sundown, just to let things settle a bit. They will sometimes sleep or nap around a feeder, not ever going to it, till it actually goes off. I've seen them go laydown and nap 50 yards off after feeding also, just to protect the feed source. I've seen them do 180-degree circles 50 yards down wind of a feed spot just to check to see if there is anything strange or out of place. In the dark, I've heard them flap their ears like a dog does, just to clear their ears. It also lets any other boars or hogs in the area know he's about to come in.
I've spent many nights in a tree from sundown to sunrise. These are just some of my observations.
