Decided to make Jordan’s crappie cakes tonight! Instead of only adding onions, I decided to throw the rest of the holy trinity in the mix as well! Slapping them on a toasted bun as we speak!

Tomorrow is my maiden voyage for the year. Going to try to wade some up on Rayburn. I know a few guys have had some luck up shallow this week

As many fish as I clean I’ve still never made those!!! Looks good! Headed to D’Arbonne. Sounds like fish are everywhere. Kicker fish are not!

Their bbq is ok but their beans are amazing!

National Crappie Trail runs a good trail. Hate I can’t fish all of them! We finished 3rd in their Toledo Bend tournament and that qualified us for their championship. 3 days on 3 different lakes was kinda cool.

work 3 days and head back to D’Arbonne for Crappie Masters! It’s tournament season again!!
Do you ever run any trips at D’Arbonne or Poverty Point? I am sure you don’t but if you had an off limits day or something and stayed out there I might book a trip for my dad and I. He lives in Start.

Been a slow two days for me. Just a little early for them to move up and I wish we had one more foot of water. Them pulling water to lower lake doesn’t help either

Finally able to get a day to fish tomorrow and planned on going down the Angelina to see if the crappie were in the shallows but as Javelin stated, they are releasing water out of Rayburn so it's got the river up and moving. So I'm going with plan B and will head north to the Sabine and chase white bass.

we don’t have any days off and I have no clue what an out of state guide license would cost. PP is a cool lake though. D’Arbonne is full of fish but we’re struggling finding good ones. We’re in 15th after day and one lost a couple good ones. Casting to them at 50 feet. Hard to keep them buttoned up in all the trees

I agree with you. I went and it was slow on the bank

Thats what I figured but thought I would ask. My brother in law farms right there next to Poverty Point. Lots of black bears around there.

                            Good luck in the tourney!

Finished in 14th place .01 out of the money. Never ran across a kicker fish either day which is our norm there. We've had some good finishes on D'Arbonne in the past and didn't have a kicker then either. We were a 1/4 pound out of the top 10 and a kicker fish away from 5th or 6th. 5 fish format makes it even more important to have a kicker fish. Getting the boat detailed this week and maybe get the engine serviced so I'll be ready to roll after Grenada in 2 weeks. Heard it's fishing great right now but it's supposed to rain a bunch between now and then so no telling what will happen to the lake by the time we get there. Lake's 13' low currently but the way that lake rises and falls it might be 5' high by the time the tourney starts. That will have them scattered for sure. Stories so far are you better have all 5 fish over 3 pounds both days to be near the top! All but one of my 3 pounders have come from Grenada but with that said it's not one of my favorite lakes to fish. It will humble you for sure. Those fish are spooky as heck.

Went yesterday on my crappie ponds and all I could catch were ditch pickles. Will try it over Easter
