Each situation is different, you’re husbands concerns are valid as is your question. I hope my situation gets better if not then my skin will get thicker and I’ll move along.

    Happy New Year!!!

You sound like a good man with a good head on your shoulders. God love you, sir.

Just reading this makes me glad I dont have room for guest. Unless someone has a few to many drinks they are not staying and its one night on the couch. If i needs that much room I would rent out Curts apartment in his back yard. I would rent it for me to stay, not the guest.

We've always said if you stay 3 days your moving in and that's not acceptable.

2-3 nights for most. There is a short list that I could handle much longer but that's rare although those we usuall visit each other many times a year and have for ever.

My wife and I stay at my sister and brother in laws for a night several times a year. My sister and Blair are very close, and like to have cocktails and plan their concerts and shopping trips. My BIL and I are close and just drink whiskey, shoot the ****, and burn firewood, until the wee hours. It's about 40 miles, so too far for uber to be feasible, and they have a huge house.

I appreciate that, I hear God only gives you what you can handle so I’m hoping I’m reaching the limit.

A couple days is enough. We lived overseas for several years and would come back for a month each summer, we would stay with some family for a few days and change after a few days. You could see it was a strain for them, and it was not enjoyable for us. After a couple years, we just started getting a long stay hotel room for our vacation and visit as desired. Worked out much better. Now if visiting out of town relatives we get a room, so much easier for everyone
