    Lack of deer

We’ve hunted between Fredericksburg and Kerrville for nearly 40 years on. We have never seen so few deer in all of those years. Has anyone else in the area experienced lack of deer movement or sightings. I went three hunts earlier this season without seeing a single deer.

My cousin picked up a new lease near Concan this year and their sighting have dismal at best.
Nightttime pics only for the most part.

Very odd sounding for that part of the state.

It's been a pretty mild winter in central TX, which doesn't help. Also, the entire 1.5 y/o cohort pretty much doesn't exist due to drought.

maybe the big freeze and summer drought has something do with it?

I have lots of deer on my place in Mills county. I would ay it's about the normal numbers.

Been on the same lease in Cypress Mill ( blanco county just north of Johnson City) and never had a year this bad. After about 7-8 trips i cant even muster the desire to go back. Literally only see a few does and maybe 1 young buck on each trip

I've been on my place in Cherokee Co. since 2014. I've never seen so few deer on it.

Between Brady and Menard it is solid green. It looks like a wet turkey season. No hard freeze and the clover is 8" if not deep on our place, if not deeper.
I've only seen it this slow one other time in the 25 years on the place. All mature bucks are MIA. Area hunters are saying the same thing.
