70 years old now & I just turned my bow down from 65 to 55 lbs. mid season this year. I realized that I was over bowed when having to let down in the stand. That is part of bow hunting just as much as getting drawn as deer often don't stay positioned for the shot after you draw. Not only is it easier to draw and let down but my accuracy improved. I just killed my 2nd best buck ever with a complete pass through with a 2 inch cut G5 Mega Meat broad head. Don't be skeered Trey, just do it!

About #62 now, 8 years post rotator cuff repair and looking at another one sometime soon. I shot Thunderhead 100 g this year with complete pass through on the 2 deer I've taken so far.

            61. I can pull 90+…. But I see no need for it. SlickTrick mags, never a problem

A few years back I bought a 50# draw compound. 68 was getting very tough on cold mornings. The 50 is awesome to draw, but the flip side is slower arrow speed, which I dont dig. A doe ducked my arrow this year, first time in a long time that has happened, spine shot one last year. So there is a trade off from my perspective.
I am presently shopping for a new bow. Target acquired!

I'm with you. I've always shot 70lbs with ease and now with a torn rotator cuff it is really painful. I'm gona back mine down to 60lbs.

Shooting 63lbs this year due to how smooth my 34" bow feels, but think I'll go back down to 60lbs after AZ deer next month. Shot 60 lbs for three years prior to this year. 64lbs before that since about '98.

63 out of the compound and 47 from the recurve.

59.7# on my scale. After I watched my arrow blitz thru a 1600+# Eland in August, I am convinced I need nothing more!!!!!!!

                        I’m almost 63yo. I shoot 100gr QAD Exodus broadheads.

I backed off to 60 when I was about 67 years old. Sure feels better and it still shoots a lot faster than my trad bows.

On the flip side: my public land hunting buddy went from 60-75 (he’s young and full of healthy muscles. lol) had a mishap this year and shot a buck unintentionally dead in the butt! ….. existed the armpit! Shot through an out of state buck long ways!!!
