Watching ol "warning shot Weishun" on TV over the years, I didn't think he ever got his crosshairs on anything.

The drought has carrying capacity and recruitment numbers down
and imo comparing freer or other artificial carrying capacity areas is apples and oranges

It doesn't seem to be anything to get upset about. If you had 200 acres and killed two does off of it, would you bat an eye?

          Not apples and oranges here….
McCulloch county has been hit by drought as hard as any county in the hill country. Actually we are in a serious 4 year drought. That being said the deer numbers are booming..
We we’re wiped out in 2011.

40 is not nearly enough doe to take off of 4K acres anywhere around Ozona. WT thrive in that country.

Too many assumptions and not enough information for anyone not partial to the story to give good information or suggestions. What is the current deer density on this property? Was that area affected by Anthrax like a lot of that area was 4-5 years ago that wiped out the white tail herd? As far as the number of hunters, is it “20 hunters” or “20 families”? Point is, you can’t make a blanket statement either way.

That’s great advice if you want to decimate your deer herd. Really stupid advice if you don’t.

Never pass an opportunity to keep your mouth shut. I think he would have been wise to not call the guy an idiot. Lots of deer numbers out there.

I think I’d cull out about a dozen hunters. Other than that, no real issue with the amount of deer killed.

20 hunters at how much a person?

                            Example: 20 x $5,000 = $100,000
