When in Rome… I like having them when traveling in the southeast.

I agree that it’s like having rice, potatoes…

Mom fixed them all the time. The greatness was on Sunday morning breakfast. We would have Grits and Mom would fix a double batch. Pouring the remaining grits into a brownie pan and allowing them to cooling the fridge. The after frying chicken for supper she would cut the grit into brownie size and fry them to a golden broand for supper. GREATNESS>

Grew up in Hunt County and never ate grits or remember anyone I know ever eating them.

I love them now for dinner, just had some parmesan truffle grits at Chamberlains and they were legit.

Fried grits and crayfish etouffee poured over the top is to die for. Will put lead in your pencil and make you write a letter in Chinese.

Grits were used as a filler side to eggs, bacon and sausage. It wasn't until I married my NOLA girl that grits were eaten as a main dish. No I make NOLA style BBQ shrimp all the time for her.

Gumbo and fried grits at the Flying Fish in Arlington, Tx is the perfect lunch. Might have to go there today.

Growing up in FL we ate them. Never with sugar, only salt, butter & cheese depending on the meal. When cooked for breakfast it was with over easy eggs. If in a restaurant then also had hash browns. Fried fish usually had a side of cheese grits.

Now one thing I never could get on board with was when dad had scrambled eggs and hogs brains. had to pass on that one.

Used to eat grits when i was a child. Was just looking at old pics of myself where a few years ago I looked so much better. I know why I've gained weight - I move very little and eat way too much of the wrong things. I also remember the last time I lost 20kg - its wasn't fast but from my own experience after like 3 months of eating healthy (6 small meals with strict calorie counting and a food journal) and exercising (started off very slow because I was so unfit but later worked for 3 hours a day in 2 sessions - around 1 hour cardio and 30 minutes of weights) something happens in your entire biology where it doesn't even matter if you fall of the wagon or maybe not work out as intensely but your metabolism is on fire and it becomes your new normal to burn fat rather than just store it. Getting super fit has wonderful benefits - I remember when I stopped working out, those 20kg didn't start to creep back until 2 years later. Read an interesting article about protein https://betterme.world/articles/200-...day-meal-plan/. What do you guys think of it?

Been eating them since I could eat. Not just for breakfast, they were a staple at any fish fry where I grew up, catfish and cheese grits...that's good eatin'!!!
