i can convert to .png or whatever you need
You know, I was just reading up on vector files and saw that .ai files are vector as opposed to raster. So now I need to double check with my daughter and see what she was told by the embroiderers she contacted.

I am very confused by all of this. For years, I had a graphic designer who worked for me. She did all of her creative work in Illustrator and, I swear, I remember embroiderers in particular telling us they couldn't digitize an Illustrator file for their machines before first converting it to a "vector" file. Perhaps I just misunderstood but I paid a lot of embroiderers additional money to convert these .ai files.

If I find out now that I've been had; why, I'm gonna be really.....well, you know.

Every project I did that I had embroidered, they needed a high quality raster or a .pdf (which is a vector mostly).

So I'd convert a .svg, .ai, or .eps to .png and send it to the embroiderer

Interesting. I'm surprised they can "digitize" their machines from a raster file but maybe I should check with a few embroidery companies to ask, specifically, what kind of file they need, as opposed to just vector or raster.

Thanks much for your input today. It was very enlightening.

I wish I could help but after checking all of my files it seems that most of mine are flat baztards with a few half rounds. Absolutely none that are stamped with Vector or Victor
