I need a vector file

    If you already have it in Illistrator I would just send them the .ai file which is already a vector file. If they want an .svg file instead just go into Illistrator and go to file>export>svg and export as an svg. Other vector files could be .eps, .dxf, .svg, but they should be able to work with the .ai or svg file.
