Just curious, how many posting on the thread own a pitbull for a pet.

I’ve owned two when I was a single man. They were great for my lifestyle back then. Both ended up getting put down. My female was put down because of illness, my big male got put down for aggression. He was very well behaved with me, but just got too aggressive to those around me and I couldn’t trust him.

Wife adopted a lab puppy, turned out to be 1/2 pit bull, sweet dog till he attacked my mother in law and put her in the hospital, he got a dirt nap by my wife

I just have known too many friends and family members who have been mauled by both their own pits (who wouldn't hurt a fly) as well as someone's loose pit. I can't understand owning one if you have little kids around the house or neighboring yard. Seems to me most people who have one in our neighborhood are compensating for something.

I don't and never have. I've also never owned a lion, tiger, bear, wolf, etc. I don't need to own any of those to know I don't need to have one as a pet. Same with a pit.
