A handshake sealed a deal and mans word was his bond.

Terry, I still pull over for funerals and remove my hat. I've worked the same place (but changed name) for 35yrs since I was 18. Got 24yrs on marriage #2.

Been thinking about this thread for a while. You know, I think that as long as WE continue to do all these things (open doors for women, stop for funerals, remove hat for the flag, etc...) that others around us will know that these actions still matter. I doesn't matter to me if I am the only one in a stadium, I will still do the right thing. Not trying to sound grandiose or anything like that about myself.

"Mean what you say & say what you mean" is a motto I love and try to follow.

Sorry but I have to share. As a child we had to ride the bus to and from school. Mr. Stanley was our bus driver on through school. We could just about do anything we wanted to on the bus. BUT when we passed a funeral, whether it was the cemetary, church, funeral home, or precession all Mr Stanley had to do was "quiet" and we would freeze and not say a word. I will never forget that and think about it every time I pass one. Even turn off the radio when passing a church holding one.
