    Remember when?

People would pull their car over when a funeral went by, take off their hat and place their hand over their heart for the National Anthem, work for the same company their entire life, stay married for 50 years or death do you part?

Vote for change heck I wanna vote for change back!

Long long gone. People never seem (as a whole) to get better, only worse.

        That'll preach!

I'm only 28, but being raised by grandparents does mold you in a way that teaches you to respect that which deserves respect. Far too many of today's "under 30" crowd never learned this, and won't pass it down.

How about....Removing your hat for dinner, opening or holding the door for a lady or adult, or getting up and giving an adult a chair.

Amen brothers!! I teach Junior High student all day and very few of them have any manners at all. I just know if I would have talked to adults the way these kids do I would be missing all my teeth.

When my grandfather passed away in December we took 183 into Rising Star and then 36 west to the turn off to the farm. The ONLY vehicles to pull over where some inmate truckers for TDCJ. The boss following them in the rear didn't pull over though.

Those days are not completely gone. We buried my uncle in early December. Funeral in Bridgeport and burial west of Jacksboro. Roughly 40 miles. Nearly every vehicle we passed pulled off to the side and stopped. There were some jackwagons but even they slowed down.

I still get choked up thinking about the amount of respect that was shown by everyone the day we buried Sgt. Gary S. Johnston.

I agree. Kind of hard to work for one company anymore (I got laid off from my last job after working there for almost seven years).

As far as being married for 50 years I still got a ways to go seeing as how I have only been married for 14 years.

“Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.”

Same old song and dance, the old crowd always gripes about the new crowd. Will never end.
