Does your shooting range check your suppressor tax stamps?

Wife uses one on her 308 and Bullet Hole here in SA always comes running up asking for the paperwork when they see us screw on the can. I keep the stamps in a Google drive so pull them up on my phone, every single time I intentionally pull up the wrong stamp (showed them the Omega stamp today for the Nomad today) and they always stare at the can for a minute and then say ok.

Am I just being a DB thinking it's not their place to ask for verification every single time? This is the same shooting range that harassed me about wearing a mask while shooting outdoors when it was literally just myself and my wife there by ourselves.

It's none of their business, but you're using their range. They can enforce their own house rules. Might be time to find a more friendly range.

They can pound sand. I would find a new place to shoot.

Bullet hole is a nice range and the cheapest I know of in the area. One time Membership ,I don't know what it cost no days, and then $13 a person with as many guns as you can carry. Next closest range is a place to shoot and they charge for each gun.

Yeah I only go there because it's convenient but they've been rubbing me the wrong way lately.

I’d tell them to kick rocks and find a new range.

My shooing range doesn’t care what you shoot and doesn’t check tax stamps. Full auto, suppressed, or whatever.

If I'm not mistaken, on the ATF has jurisdiction over suppressors. Local cops cannot do anything about it either, has to be FED ATF only. Am I wrong?

Are they power trippin' or do they think they could get in trouble somehow?

You are correct as far as enforcement of anything to do with them. It is their privately owned business however, and if that is a rule of theirs or something they feel the need to do, then you either comply or if they tell you to leave you must leave. No different than requiring shirt/shoes/covid mask/whatever. Dont have to like it or agree with it, but if you want to use their facility, you have to follow their rules

I shoot at four different ranges and never asked questioned or anything. They would loose my business.

I agree. This incident is making me wondering what happened in the past at this range that is making them concerned about checking tax stamps...
