    Stand and Fill

Anybody have any recommendations on a good 300/350 lb. Stand and Fill feeder that won’t break the bank ? TSC used to carry the small Lamcos but now they carry Treeline, and (besides not liking TSC), I don’t particularly like the design of the Treeline. The nearest Bucees to me is Terrell, pretty far to drive in my truck, it would cost $50 in gasoline ! I know they carry ASF, or I think they do. Help a feller out !

    In for this.

Not really impressed with the ASF feeders. At least the 400 lb models from Tractor Supply anyway.

I’ve had two of them out since June-ish 2021. The motor on the feeder in my wife’s area burned out in a shade over a month so I had to replace it.

I went to fill feeders 5 weeks ago today and tested it. Burned out again. We got to spend some time replacing it last Friday so her area wasn’t worthless, so we hunted my area together last Saturday morning.

I won’t be buying another and will look to be replacing these in the off season. I mean, they’re still better than Moultrie, but there has to be better out there.

What do you not like about the Treeline? Honestly curious.

I had some crank up feeders I was looking at replacing this year, but had enough spare parts to easily fix them. Was leaning towards the Treeline and high odds I go this route next year and some of the Ann ups are closing in on end of life.

I have had 7 of these for a few years now. No issues.

I don’t like the fact that it isn’t galvanized, the timer and battery are in with the corn, and the frame looks pretty flimsy to me. I thought about Game Winner at Academy but the reviews are terrible. I have a couple of Lamcos (I’m spoiled), but I can’t find the smaller ones on the internet. They may have been a TSC exclusive and discontinued.

The reviews on these are rife with guys complaining about the clearance under the spinner. They said it clogged up. Maybe their corn had too much stalk and cob in it, I don’t know. Others said the motor burned up in a month, etc. I’m gonna give them another look.

tagged for a future purchase when needed.
I have two of the 200# game winners (tripod type) I have been running for about 3.6 years at the house and haven’t had any issues with them at all. I know they are nothing like the stand and fills at all. I bought them on clearance in Pasadena for 70.00 each a few years back but finally put them together. The reason I am posting this is I haven’t had no issues with the motors or nada for a budget feeder. When they crap out I am going to replace them with stand and fills. The varmint cages haven’t been penetrated at all and those east tx coons have been all over them.

Did you check the Lamco website and then reach out to the dealers they have listed? They seem to have pretty good coverage, but don’t know where you are located?

I looked at a bunch of stuff this afternoon but honestly can’t remember if I went to Lamco’s site. I will do so now, I really like the 600 lb. ones that I have.

Good stuff, I’m interested in following along on this one, as you brought up some interesting observations.

I personally like the Treeline’s features, but wonder if the proprietary spinner plate is going to prove to be a liability in the long run. I like the idea of having easily findable replaceable parts.

I checked Lamco’s site, they still make the smaller feeder but it’s $800 ! No way Jose !I checked with Academy here in Tyler and they have two of the ones mentioned in Hobbs’ link, ran the reviews on it and they were pretty good. I think that’s what I’m gonna go with.

I have read some comments on here that coons will tear up the spring on the Eliminator spinner that’s on the Treeline, that was another reason I didn’t favor it.

I have been through many stand and fill feeder brands and the best IMO is GreenGo -

Go with a 600 LB. You ain’t regret it.

I have that academy feeder and it will be sold after season. Motor is not strong enough to spin if corn gets wedged wrong. I’m tired of going out and feeder doesn’t go off cause of barely wedged corn. I have 2 of them and took the second one apart to replace motor to see if it makes a difference. Of course it’s a proprietary motor and can’t match up other 12v motors in the holes without fabricating it. Done with them. I’m heavily leaning towards treeline or an OAH for replacement.

Been wanting to try this myself. Yes stake it down. I use feeder pens also.
