the guy we sold it to told me to keep using the place however i want, so all my stuff is still out there and weve been hunting it since then, just a bit more carefully lol. 140" deer 30mins from home for free is tough to pass up!
ironically, the husband is the preacher at a local church and local handyman. if i remember right, all she had was a theft charge from a long time ago.
and yes, the Lord was watching over me that day no doubt.
glad you are OK.

Glad it turned out ok for you op.
I grew up in east Texas and moved backed to retire close to my hometown I 2015. No doubt there are issues but myself personally have never experienced any of these events thank goodness. I have owned a second home there sine 99’ and my primary home is there now as mentioned and never had anything stolen. That being said it could happen anytime.

My Mom & Step-Dad had a place just outside Harleton in the "903" - Lake Deerwood, just South of Lake of the Pines. There were always some "questionables" that lived around them and we always had concerns on whether the neighbor's house would blow up at some random time in the night! They both have since passed and I still have a step-brother that lives there. Definitely some rowdy types up that way, but mostly some darn good people.
