My dad's family was from Utah, on his mother's side.
He left the church, for his own reasons, but I will say this....they were persistent.
They would come around every Sunday afternoon trying to get him to come back to the church.
My dad wasn't much like me, so he was always nice to them, but he would tell them that if they were planning on sticking around that they would be helping him wash the cars, or mow the lawn or whatever he was doing at the time. When my grandmother passed away, the funeral was huge and they took care of everything.
They came around for years, and even showed up when my Dad passed away.
My experience with them has been friendly as well. When we were working in Utah, because I had connections to them, they took me in and were perfectly nice folks.
They even showed me where I could eat on Sundays, and get the best sweet tea.
There was a real sense of community and they certainly understand how to work together.
I'm pretty much the live and let live type, so they haven't ever really bothered me, and I don't really mind what they believe in.

when I lived in Wyoming I would go over to SLC occasionally. I met a Morman girl that told me that when ol Breedem Young came over the mountain and saw the salt lake valley he said "this is where we are gonna fish and fornicate for the rest of eternity". And then when he walked down to the lake and found out how salty it was he said " so much for the fishing"

We know many LDS folks.
The founding prophets clearly stated polygamy would always be part of gods kingdom. They spoke on this many many times. They say the members should obey the current laws of the land.
So will the Church go back to polygamy if the laws change? Do members ever even think about this?
Are there any member here on TBH?

I don’t have any answers but I am ashamed to admit my wife and I have watched a buttload of sister wives.
I think we oughta let those folks do what they want. If same sex marriage, gender reassignment, and the devils lettuce are legal across most of the US I don’t see the issue with having more than one spouse. Just my .02.

I may have figured out a piece of the puzzle.
Most down to Earth Christians try their best to figure out Gods original Word from original sources. We study meanings of words in the language it was written in etc.
I think Mormons do the opposite and try to ignore all old teachings from original prophets and instead focus on the newest teachings of their church or latest words from prophets.
I say this because it's the only even semi logical way they can avoid saying polygamy is good and should be done again once allowable by law.
