Warrants usually are more specific than just contents of the home.

I have a rather large dope case going to trial next month. The two safes we entered were listed on the Warrant to include color, make and location within the apartment

And since someone will ask, consent was granted for the apt by the owners

Doesn't matter the guy that owned it is going to get 10 to 20 years until a Republican President gets in and pardons everyone. This is easy, just remember what Liberty did and buy a different safe.

Your example is a warranty done correctly. When I went through Constitutional Law at FLETC it was basically the rule, and Im paraphrasing if you have a warrant that allows a search of a residence then anything else under additional lock/key within the residence barring room/attic/closet doors considered to be part of the residence require an additional warrant. Too easy to request an additional warrant and do it legally. Otherwise fruit of the poisonous tree will destroy the case.

Another incident I recall.....2 different warrants drafted for the same house for the same incident on the same day.

one for narcotics and one for firearms and dna evidence.

These are cases that happen daily and you never hear about them. But let a case get done wrong and the entire world hates LE again.

I doubt that I've owned anything electronic (programable)that didn't have a method of restoring to factory default. It can be extremely hard to find, but the geeks have a process or code to enable them to get into the inner workings of the program. Even the soundboard at our church has three layers of access, two of which are not given to the end user. Our PLC on the centrifuge at work had three layers that they openly discussed in the installation manual; operator, administrative, and factory. Each layer comes with an increased amount of ability to modify parameters.
