    CBD for pain relief

I deal with a good amount of back pain. I’m planning to hit the surgery table in the spring after hunting season.
I take ibuprofen daily to manage it, prob 2/3-600mg doses per day. I’m looking for other recommendations. I don’t want normal maryjane as I don’t want to get high. Does anyone use cbd or other natural pain relief and does it work as good as ibuprofen? What exactly do you use?

Following, I take a bc powder or 1000mg ibuprofen several times a week for headaches

I’m still a little skeptical, but my right index finger has intermittent arthritis pain. My wife had me rub some cdb cream on it, 5 minutes later no pain. Haven’t needed it again, yet.

CBD ain’t **** without the THC to go along with it. I would start with a 2.5 mg edible of some sort and go from there.

CBD will bring you lots of relief. The problem is it is expensive in higher doses which is what you need. I would give a dropper bottle a try at 50mg minimum per dose. If you notice it works well then stick with that dose. If it isn't enough go up 25 mg at a time. Once you know your dose you can buy CBD isolate powder and mix into avocado oil yourself and its a tenth of the cost of buying it premade by a company. I had a thread where I shared my recipe somewhere on here. I am happy to walk you through the process. I have friends, family and family of friends and friends of friends using my recipe in multiple states. I do not charge anything, I will give you the recipe and the link to the lab to buy the cbd from.

CBD is an extremely powerful anti-inflammatory and is very benign on the metabolic system. Ibuprofen is also an anti inflammatory but it is very harsh on the system. So they work in the same way.

Thanks, I'd be willing to try. I know with more age that my pains will get worse and don't want to pound ibuprofen rest of my life. I have zero desire to take or use and regular weed. I just want pain relief, not a high.

Unfortunately, nothing will completely help with bone on bone pain other than eliminating your bones rubbing against each other. Although I am not a medical professional, I know of no other way to accomplish this other than surgical intervention. Seems to me, using anti-inflammatories (including and especially steroids) only encourages additional and more aggressive bone friction (due to the absence of self-limiting pain).

Why not just go get it fixed? Otherwise, it seems you’re just kicking the can down the road and, ultimately, just making the problem worse.

I alternate at times between a heating pad, ibuprofen, Tylenol, Icy Hot or other muscle cream, but the biggest and best thing - hamstring stretches. Lay on your back on the floor. Cross one leg over the other at the knees, pick up the leg on the bottom and use your hands to pull that leg closer to your chest. You can also work to cross your top ankle over your bottom knee and pick up your bottom leg straightening it toward the ceiling. On both of those, hold for 30 seconds or as long as you can up to 30 seconds. Do this twice with each leg.

I am just kicking the can until prob march. I don’t want to miss hunting season and my daughters senior yr of college b-ball. I have been much worse in prior yrs and have managed it thru physical therapy, stretching, staying active and ibuprofen but I have other aches becoming more prevalent as I age like most. Wanting to try some different day to day remedies to manage pain when needed.
