I too take issues with a lot of DWI laws but this isn't the place to discuss. According to some cops, another of my sons just asked one and got this reply, a detectable amount is any odor. So technically if an 18 year old goes to a party and doesn't drink but has a beer spilled on him and the cops smell that when pulling them over they can get a DUI. It may be beatable but as they say you can beat the wrap but you can't beat the ride....

Correct. And it's BS. When nephew got his the unit told him sign the ticket or go to the jail and blow.

The issue with that is if the deputy thought he was impaired enough to blow he shouldn't have let him drive off. It can't be one or the other.

DWI is a money game. If you have it pay it and you're free to go. If you don't have 10 or 20k as proven by this thread you go to jail for a few days and then suffer later. In the end most intox manslaughter cases you read about the drunk had priors anyway. So you end up without a driver license and insurance. Guess what....I could find 3 drivers with the same issue in 30 minutes
