Condolences and prayers for Gumbo Man.

One very important detail that I had failed to mention is how important forgiveness is to God. My mom had harbored some very bad feelings towards her own mother later in life. They had not spoken or seen each other in approximately 15 years at the time of her mothers death and had festered to the point that she didn’t attend her own moms funeral. This was an issue that I was never able to resolve with her and she stood her ground firmly for many years. That was a tremendous burden that she had carried for so many years that affected the whole family. On Sunday evening when my brothers pastor asked her if there was anything troubling that she would like to discuss she brought this issue to the table and wanted it settled. So they did. He prayed with her and finally she was able to remove that burden that God obviously wanted resolved before he would allow her to come home. Once she was able to forgive her mom the way God offers forgiveness to us she was able to close her eyes and her suffering was over.

Terry, what a glorious moment that must have been. Truly a praise the Lord and hallelujah time with all the angels of heaven singing. I can only imagine the peace and joy that must have filled her room. Continuing my prayers for y'all.
