    Serious Question

I know this is a strange question for the green screen but I would rather ask y'all than some kinda health site with a bunch of strangers... if it is unsuitable then I wont be offended if its deleted...but have any of you ever suffered from depression and if so how did u fight it and how did u know you had depression in the first place?? Sorry if its out of line once again....

I don't think it's out of line at all but if you are worried about it I would seek professional help, you'll get a bunch of replies on here but I wouldn't take them for gospel.

Can't say I've ever been depressed but when I'm feeling down, a good work out makes me feel better!

Whatever you do, don't turn to the bottle....

PM Blake! He is the man with wisdom that will blow your mind! His words help!

If you even slightly think you have depression, see a medical professional immediately. This is not something to play around with or be embarrassed about. Your life could be hanging in the balance.

I don't know anything about it but my thinking is that if you have to ask you should probably get it checked out by a professional.

              Good luck.

You are taking the best first step and that is admitting that "you just don't feel right"

Next step is a professional. Depression can feel different to different people and the goal is to find the root cause.

Sometimes it is chemical, sometimes emotional and sometimes both.

Life is too short to not be happy and sometimes you have to work at it.

Life can be very complicated. Seeing a professional will be the best thing you have ever done. I am speaking from experience.

GF is a LCSW. Aka counselor/therapist if you need to talk pm me and I'll get you in touch with her for some free advice. She's a hunting redneck so she's one of us and easy to talk to but she will tell you like it is.

Everyone gets the blues every now and then; however mild to severe depression is more common than most realize. Cajun Blake will chime in I am sure.

If you don't want to take medication, seek a psychologist not a psychiatrist. Meds take 3 weeks to start having an effect, but you can try this- 30-40 minutes of high cardio exercise that makes you out of breath and sweat. Biking, treadmill, elliptical, kick boxing, whatever works for you. In 3 weeks or less, your body will do naturally what the meds will do- raise your seratonin levels.
I still recommend a doctor to help. Talking about it with someone who won't judge you or criticize how you feel makes a big difference. Family and friends mean well, but somehow don't ever say what you need to hear in the fashion you need to hear it.

Keep in mind too, it may take 3- 4 weeks to get in for your first appointment and many psychiatrists have a 3 month waiting list for new patients, so bowhuntntxn is right- seek help immendiately, don't play around with it!

In my experience, no two people experience depression in the same way, and no two people respond the same to a remedy. My advice, like others have said, is to seek professional help. There are medications that can help, but each has its own side effects.

Sometimes just talking to someone can help, other times it can be a long process to recovery.

Talk to your doctor and/or a professional psychologist or psychiatrist. Don't hesitate to do so.

Depression is nothing to play around with. Go talk to somebody and get back on track. Nothing wrong with professional help.
